Miami Valley Music Therapy (MVMT) was founded in 1998 by Erin Jahna, MT-BC. Since then, we have been serving the Ohio Miami Valley region including the Dayton and Springfield areas.
Our therapists are Board Certified and embrace a client-centered approach
when working with individuals with a variety of needs.

Erin N. Jahna, MT-BC received her Bachelor of
Music
Therapy degree at Eastern Michigan University in 1998. She completed
her internship at the Finger Lakes Developmental Disabilities Service
Office in Newark, NY with adults enrolled in a day treatment program.
Erin then founded Miami Valley Music Therapy in 1998 upon moving back to
Ohio. She has provided many informational presentations to Dayton area
parents and professionals on the benefits of music therapy. Erin has also
served as the government relations and reimbursement chair for the
Association of Ohio Music Therapists. She embraces an improvisational
approach to music therapy, with a concentration on working with children
and adults on the autism spectrum.

Beth Habegger, MT-BC received her Bachelor of
Music in Music Therapy degree from the University of Dayton in 2007.
She completed her internship at Bethany Village Continuing Care
Retirement Community in Centerville, Ohio. After completing her
internship, Beth continued to work at Bethany Village on the memory
support unit with folks who have Alzheimer's and dementia. Beth then
joined Miami Valley Music Therapy in October of 2008.

Shonda A. Malik, MT-BC received her Bachelor of
Music in
Music Therapy from Ohio University in 1997. She then traveled to
Richmond, Virginia to complete her internship at the Virginia Center
for Children, a psychiatric hospital serving children ages 3-17.
Shonda joined Miami Valley Music Therapy in August of 2008 and is
preparing to pursue her Masters degree.

Sarah Miller-Staver, MT-BC received her Bachelor
of Music Therapy degree at Baldwin-Wallace College in Cleveland,
Ohio in 2002. She completed her internship at Bethany Children's Home in
Womelsdorf, Pennsylvania where she worked with adolescents who had severe
emotional disturbances (SED) and severe behavioral handicaps (SBH).
Sarah has five years of
clinical experience working throughout the Greater Cleveland Area. She
served children, adolescents, and adults with a variety of special needs
including the SED and SBH populations, individuals with developmental
disabilities, and children with autism.
Sarah joined MVMT in August of 2009, and continues to enjoy
making a difference in the lives of many individuals.
